Locus Design were appointed as architect and interior designer to redesign part of this large Victorian townhouse located on Nightingale Square in Balham. The brief required the complete rearrangement and extension of the existing ground floor spaces to better reflect the family’s evolving lifestyle and to closely integrate the rear garden as part of their everyday space by improving views and bringing in more natural daylight and planting. It also required a contemporary design scheme which feels warm and rich in texture and materials, avoiding the typical minimalist look so often associated with these projects. Following receipt of planning consent, the works commenced on site in December 2022 and were successfully completed in December 2023. The family are now very much enjoying their new home.
